YouTube Timeline for Videos - Cool Tool

I just came across a site called TimeTube which is a new mashup from Dipity. The interactive timeline site, takes videos and arranges them by date and then sorts them by most viewed. It’s a cool tool that offers a unique view of videos for a particular time period.

I spent hours playing with searches like Sensex (very interesting to see the changes over time), Cricket, and Ambani, (there are a lot of them) are all striking, but the fun begins when coming up with off the wall searches. Try searching on recent events like Credit crisis, or Tibet. Since YouTube India launched, it will be interesting to see if there is an Indian timeline that develops, although as reported before the market for videos is still young.

It’s a fun toy for now, but if they can make it more useful by analyzing trends and pulling useful statistics out for marketers, the site might find away to monetize which is becoming more and more important as Web 2.0 winds down.
