ANIL & AMITABH STARTED A BIG JOINT VENTURE

• Reliance would to produce films together with Amitabh family

• Reliance will look into the managerial, marketing and distribution side, AB Corp will provide the creative inputs and execute the project. In that sense, the two companies will be equal partners.

Reliance Big Entertainment (RBE) head, Mr Anil Ambani is going to expand his entertainment umpire and he joined hands with Amitabh family to start a joint venture. With an aim to produce more and more Bollywood films, he has joined to produce films with Amitabh, Abhisek, and Aiswarya. He has also zeroed upon couple of Hollywood projects and recently ties up with Steven Spielberg's DreamWorks SKG

Reliance Big Entertainment has tied up with Big B to produce movies in a deal of Rs 1500 crore. Amitabh Bachchan and Anil Ambani have come together to form a new film production company under the Joint Venture

Last year, when Amitabh was asked about his plans to get into joint production with Anil Ambani, he refuted but a year later, he indeed planned to shape it up. 

Mr Anil group described Amitabh as "the living legend of Indian movie industry," his other family members -- wife Jaya, son Abhishek and daughter-in-law Aishwarya also figure among the big stars.

Reliance Big Entertainment said that it would focus on creating original products in the field of movies, TV, internet, mobile and live shows. This Joint Venture would bring all creative synergies of the Bachchan family -- Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Abhishek and Aishwarya.

Further they said that Reliance Big Entertainment would provide managerial resources, market strength and distribution muscle to this Join Venture.

Reputed directors like Chandraprakash Dwivedi, Rohan Sippy, Sujoy Ghosh and R Balakrishnan have been signed to work under their banner. At present, Reliance Entertainment has 69 Indian films and approximately 30 Hollywood films to be produced under their banner and couple of films do have Abhishek Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan.

Amit Khanna, Chairman of RBE says, "To begin with, we will be looking at making four - five films with AB Corp. We value our relationship with the Bachchan family immensely. The creativity of the Bachchan family combined with our business acumen will create a win –win situation for all".

Amitabh Bachchan said, "We will provide the creative inputs and also share the profits. As of now, we plan to start with film projects and work in a way that will benefit us mutually…they have given us the liberty to work outside and there is an unwritten understanding that we have the first right of refusal."

The deal would reportedly include film production, TV serials and reality shows, Internet and mobile content and live shows.

While Reliance will look into the managerial, marketing and distribution side, AB Corp will provide the creative inputs and execute the project. In that sense, the two companies will be equal partners.

Mr Amitabh said that he would look upon this association as a progressive step towards the future and a healthy marriage between creative output and professional corporate management.

Mr P Ramesh, CEO of A B Corporation said that four directors have been short listed for projects which will go on floors beginning from the end of this year. Few other projects are at consideration stage and will be announced shortly.
