Nikon Launched 10 new cameras in India

  • Tokyo – Nikon has launched 10 new cameras to Indian market including 10.2 megapixel D60

  • Prices range from Rs.7950/- to Rs.36,680/-

  • These new models are from their DSLR and COOLPIX range


Nikon has unveiled ten new cameras to Indian market including the 10.2 megapixel D60, following the world wide launch in January. The D60 is now officially available at a retail price of Rs. 36,680/-. Most of these models have been available in the international market since quite some time. These new models are from their DSLR and COOLPIX range.

Nikon has launched the much talked-about D60 with many specifications. With 10.2 effective mega pixels and a wealth of innovative and user-friendly features, the D60 enables both photo enthusiasts and those new to digital SLR photography to capture incredible images like never before. This Camera launched from their line of D-series digital SLR (DSLR) cameras.

The S210 is available in many color options such as black, silver, blue and pink. The 18mm (less than 3/4-inch) COOLPIX S210 offers 8 effective megapixel resolution, a 3x Zoom-NIKKOR glass lens, Electronic Vibration Reduction Image Stabilization technology, and a quality-crafted aluminum body.

Another S520 Camera available with Food Mode. The COOLPIX S520 boasts 8 effective megapixels, a 3x Zoom-NIKKOR LENS, Optical Vibration Reduction Image Stabilization, and an aluminum body. Additionally, the S520 adds the "Food Mode" to its existing scene modes. Food Mode allows for users to capture close-up images of food at high ISO settings in restaurants or other locations where flash photography is not permitted.

 The S550 would also be available in the colours of Silver, Black, Blue, and Purple. The COOLPIX S550 features 10 mega pixels effective resolution, 5x Zoom-NIKKOR lens, Electronic VR IS, and two new modes that enhance portrait photography including the Smile Mode that automatically triggers the shutter when the subject smiles and Blink Warning that displays a warning message when the subject blinks.

The Model of S600 is available with Child Mode. The COOLPIX S600 features 10 effective megapixels, a 4x wide-angle 28-112mm Zoom-NIKKOR lens and Optical Vibration Reduction Image Stabilization. The digicam will be available in slate black. For capturing action shots or fast moving kids, the COOLPIX S600 adds an Active Child Mode to the 14 existing scene modes that are standard in COOLPIX cameras.

The Camera S52 with high sensitivity up to ISO 3200 allows for flexibility when shooting fast moving subjects and in low light conditions. The COOLPIX S52 comes with a 3.0-inch LCD screen, 9.0 effective megapixel and a built-in “right-angle” optical lens shift, Vibration Reduction and 3x Zoom-NIKKOR lens.


Nikon's COOLPIX P series includes the P60 and P80. The cameras P60 and P80 mode dial includes two exposure modes -- Programmed Auto, and Manual. It also sports an extended light sensitivity range up to ISO 2000. The P60 offers 8.1 effective mega pixels resolution and 5x Zoom-NIKKOR glass lens with VR IS. It also offers an electronic viewfinder, claimed to be a first in the COOLPIX line. 

 This camera P80 is available in a black leather-tone finish for both the body and lens. Meanwhile, the COOLPIX P80 features 10.1 effective mega pixels resolution and 18x Zoom-NIKKOR lens that covers focal lengths from 27-486mm (35mm format equivalent). It has a new digital image processing engine that, the company says, reproduces fine details and subtle tones, delivers quick response, and maintains image quality and clarity when taking advantage of extended light sensitivity settings as high as ISO 6400*2.


The COOLPIX L16 and L18 are available with an Easy auto mode and automatically -enabled D-Lighting and Anti-shake AE. The COOLPIX L Series comprises the L18 and L16 point-and-shoot cameras. The L18 and L16 offer 8.0 and 7.1 effective mega pixels resolution, and 3x Zoom-NIKKOR lens. They also offer extended light sensitivity as high as ISO 1600 to prevent blurred shots in lower light, or when capturing fast-moving subjects.
