Cement Exports Allowed through Gujarat Ports

While on the one hand several big and small cement companies are actively considering expansion plans in anticipation of further growth in demand for cement, on the other, a phase of acquisitions and mergers among the existing players is also not being ruled out in the immediate future

The Government has eased the ban on cement exports from the ports in Gujarat. Gujarat accounts for almost 90 per cent of the country’s cement exports.

The Director-General of Foreign Trade has also issued a notification to give effect to the Government decision.

The existing ban on export of cement and cement clinkers shall not be applicable to export
